“Maggi Magic” Podium in Brands Hatch

At Brands Hatch (GB), Giorgio Maggi secured his fourth top 5 result and his third podium finish in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series 2019

With a podium finish and remaining in the lead of the 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series 2019 drivers’ standings, Swiss Giorgio Maggi returned from Brands Hatch.

Over 80,000 spectators got to see a Giorgio Maggi in the way one hopes for such a race. Top qualifying, 10 NASCAR race cars within one second, front row of the starting grid and hard on-track duels in the field of 34 drivers. Maggi scored a podium finish and again was the best-placed rookie.

The young Swiss, who has become a guarantee for success for the Dutch Hendriks team, staged a brilliant performance in the UK. For Giorgio Maggi, this was proof that he ranks among the favourites for the championship title.

“It was a tough race,” Maggi commented. “Defending your position in the leading group at Brands Hatch is really difficult. I am delighted to still be leading the championship standings. The race was greart fun. Now, I am looking forward to Most, a highly technical, but also a groovy track.”

Legendary Dutch racing driver Toine Hezemans is Giorgio Maggi’s mentor. He says: “He has done a tremendous job here. I have never seen him fighting as hard as this before. Of course, this cost me some nerves. I will do everything to enable Giorgio to win the 2019
