Giorgio Maggi to start for SMG in ADAC Formula 4

SMG Swiss Motorsport Group AG has announced its first driver for the coming Formula 4 season. With Giorgio Maggi the Swiss team could enrol a very experienced Formula racing driver. The young Swiss participated in 2013’s and 2014’s season in the predecessor ADAC Formula Masters hence bringing two years of experience in professional Formula racing.

Therefore, Giorgio has an optimistic outlook on the coming season of the newly established Formula 4 which – like its predecessor Formula Masters – is being held once again under the patronage of ADAC: “Formula 4 is a new beginning for every team. We will also see many rookies. Hopefully, I can take advantage of my experience gained in ADAC Formula Masters. Testing in Hockenheim was very promising. I tackle this new challenge with a lot of motivation and optimism.“

Team Principal Jörn Becker: “With Giorgio we could contract a driver who disposes of several years of experience in Formula racing. He left a very good impression during testing the new Formula 4 car. Giorgio feels comfortable with the car. Consequently, our expectations are set high. Our staff, team members of the successful predecessor Formula Masters-team JBR, is well-rehearsed and ready to race so that we have met all requirements for a successful season.“

Traditionally, the season’s premiere is going to take place in Oschersleben, Germany on April 24th, 2015. The season contains 8 racing events with a total of 24 races in which the SMG junior drivers can prove their talent.
